Description:
H'Raakeen is the name of a rare parasitic swamp fungus known only to the depths of the Mist Swamps and some of
the denizens therein. It appears initially as a white spotting on the flesh, quickly covering the body of the host in a
leathery gray carapace. Thought to be somewhat sentient, if only on a astral level, the parasite protects, yet drains from
the user in life force 3 permanent points of damage while infested. The host also gains one additional recovery test per
day, but suffers a -2 wound threshold modifier and a 3 step penalty to all social tests. Removal is currently under
investigation by Questors of Garlen. Thought not to be contagious, it has been observed in rare cases on non-namegivers,
primarily mammalian.
